Late March
It's been ten weeks since I was last formally employed in exchange for money and I've settled into a routine so naturally, I can't quite believe it. From my study window, looking out across the gentle valley, the river Churn snakes its path through white fields like a stalking black mamba. It's all very pretty, even though the frozen ground means I can't move my rhubarb to a better site today! Ah well, mustn't crumble...
